I grew up in a verbally and physically abusive home and naively went into a marriage at sixteen. My husband drank heavily in the early days and used me frequently as a punching bag. Once he stopped drinking, the physical abuse ended but the verbal abuse existed until we divorced.I decided the best way for me to address what I went through by paying it forward. I chose poetry because it allows the reader to take in the situation in smaller doses versus being overwhelmed. I’ve included a link to an excellent list of books about domestic violence if you want to read more about this crisis.

I love writing poetry but recently have expanded into short stories. My other passions are reading, gardening, crocheting, quilting, cooking and witchcraft. My blog topics will vary among those in addition to a very personal journey. Cancer. This is my fourth round with the disease. I’ve had cervical which spread to the uterus (1980), esophageal(2000) and breast cancer (2005). My present round is located in my bile duct. It was discovered on May 14th, 2020. I’ve chosen to blog about the daily experiences, and what I’m discovering to help beat this disease once and for all.
Thank you for joining me. Blessed be
