 all the time that

idealism is mismatched yet

perfectly paired denying

repair won’t hide our

 horrific brutality because

we need it

up close and unsettled to

inspire what we build underneath

what we’ve purposely seduced

to hide our betrayal

from a galaxy far, far, away

we lie to ourselves

with every potent belief

that says every one is equal

in this mismatched yet perfectly paired

world that neither changes

for better or worse
